Scouting is a uniformed organisation. All young people and leaders, irrespective of their sections are expected to wear full uniform for meetings, parades and arrival/departure from events. Occasionally uniform may not be appropriate and if this is the case you will be informed in advance. As a minimum requirement, a sweater and neckerchief (once invested) will be required at all times.
The uniform consists of:
- Section sweatshirt (this is what the badges are sewn on to).
- Our distinctive green and red neckerchief (also known as a scarf or necker); which is presented during investiture.
- A woggle; which is presented during investiture.
We also sell our own 27th High Wycombe Scout group T-shirts, which may be worn for camps and evening meetings.
Our neckerchief – which way does it go?
We are often asked this question. As the 27th High Wycombe Scout group has a very distinctive scarf, with the colours representing the naval navigation system ‘port’ and ‘starboard’. The neckerchief is worn with the red on the left and the green on the right.

Where can I buy the uniform from?
You can purchase the general scout uniform for Beavers and Cubs, locally at PMG Schoolwear in High Wycombe town centre, alternatively you can purchase online at Scout shop.
